The New York Times has called my music “bracing”.
The main goal for me as a composer is to decorate life, try to make sense of our existence, and provide connections within humanity – to nature and the collective subconscious.
I have never studied composition in a very formal manner, but I refuse to let this stop me from trying to weave together sounds into a narrative or landscape that compels me.
My inspiration comes from the vocal counterpoint of our renaissance masters and 20th century popular culture, a mix which I believe creates various layers of immediate familiarity while allowing for fresh sounds.
While my prose might be a little stilted and pretentious, I hope that my music can speak for itself and be a simple source of nourishment for the soul.
